Off the Record Interviews was born from a specific type of boredom that stemmed from album-release interviews and an interview with Marko Hietala that fell through the cracks on its way to publishing at Tuonela Magazine. I missed the old days of talking to the artists about themselves! I wanted to get off of the album-release line of questioning, which is heavily oversaturated by music medias, and into the lessons and personal growth they’ve experienced throughout their musical journeys. This inspired the name for the series, Off the Record!
Thanks for checking it out, and please do the usual subs and shares if you want to see more of these in the future!
Backstage with Blind Channel & Ember Falls - “Revolutions” Long Lost Interviews
In 2016, behind the scenes at Blind Channel’s debut album release show for “Revolutions,” Bear Wiseman was backstage doing flash interviews with both Blind Channel and their opening act, Ember Falls. Unfortunately, the person who was supposed to edit the videos flaked out and they have sat in Bear’s archives for a decade. Now that Bear has basic knowledge of simple video editing, it seemed like a good time to finally release these silly backstage clips from Blind Channel’s first-ever album release show back at the Virgin Oil Co. in Helsinki on October 1st, 2016.
