ORIGINS OF THE VITMAR CHRONICLES
TVC Origin Story
There are many origins to The Vitmar Chronicles, but none more profound than a conversation between myself and the brother of my 2007-2009 boyfriend.
You see, we were both very into heavy metal and writing fantasy novels. As such, it was really only a matter of time before we got into a discussion about what sort of characters we would be if we were in a fantasy world.
I confess that I expected him to give me some sort of blustering epic tale of grand heroism. What I got, however, was a deeply moving tale of powerful love, immense grief, and devastating consequences.
This story squatted in my brain for several weeks, if not months, until in January 2008, when I finally decided that this story had the potential to be far greater and more profound than anything I had written up until that point (which was, let’s be fair, mostly a 13-book knock-off Final Fantasy series). I abandoned the Tomes of Ra as such, indefinitely, and made The Vitmar Chronicles my #1 focus from there on out.
