Off the Record with Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish
August 2026 meant, once again, that it was time for Nightwish’s Tuomas Holopainen to do some promotion, this time for the band’s 30th anniversary release, “The Greatest 30 Years on Earth.” While I may have been beyond exhausted and not as inspired as I would have hoped to be for an interview of this caliber, I nevertheless hope that we still had a fun chat. And yes, we do talk about video games.
Beyond that though, we covered the Auri tours, what’s been inspiring him lately, his upcoming solo album, the next Nightwish release, and how he’d have celebrated the band’s anniversary without any obligations to labels or fans.
